Landmark completes The Standard at Los Angeles, a 1,261-bed student community near USC

According to ConnectCRE, Landmark Properties has completed The Standard at Los Angeles, a new student housing community near the University of Southern California. The publication framed the project as part of Landmark’s recent activity in Los Angeles, where the company has been expanding its student housing presence through both development and acquisitions.

The project is located at 3900 South Figueroa St., about 0.3 miles from the USC campus in Los Angeles. Landmark said the property contains 429 units and 1,261 beds. The building rises eight stories.

ConnectCRE reported that The Standard at Los Angeles is Landmark’s second ground-up development in Los Angeles. HED designed the project, and Landmark Construction, the in-house construction arm of Landmark Properties, served as general contractor.

In a statement carried by ConnectCRE, Jason Doornbos, chief development officer at Landmark Properties, said: "We're excited to open doors at The Standard at Los Angeles and welcome our first residents to our community – just steps from USC's campus, BMO Stadium and Memorial Coliseum. The Standard's market-leading amenities, design, and luxury unit finishes set a new benchmark for student housing near USC, and this delivery reflects the caliber our team consistently delivers at Landmark."

The opening follows other moves by Landmark in the Los Angeles market that ConnectCRE identified in its report. In 2025, the company delivered The Mark Los Angeles near UCLA, described as its first development in the area. The same year, Landmark also acquired Icon Plaza and West 27th Place, two properties that serve students attending USC.

Taken together, the details in ConnectCRE’s report place The Standard at Los Angeles within a broader sequence of projects by Landmark in the city, while the newly delivered property adds another completed student housing community near USC.
