Alexander Brothers, Luxury Real Estate Brokers to the Stars, Convicted of Sex Trafficking

Three luxury real estate brokers who catered to celebrities and billionaires were convicted Monday on all counts of sex trafficking in a Manhattan federal court, capping a dramatic fall from grace for one of real estate's most powerful families.
Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander were found guilty on all 10 counts after 20 hours of jury deliberations following a monthlong trial. Each brother faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and up to life behind bars at sentencing on August 9.
From Trophy Sales to Federal Conviction
The Alexander brothers built an empire selling ultra-luxury properties in New York and Miami, counting Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin among their high-profile clients. They helped broker the record-smashing $240 million sale of a Midtown penthouse to Griffin—the most expensive home ever sold in the United States.
Oren and Tal co-founded the boutique brokerage Official in 2022 after rising through the ranks at Douglas Elliman, one of the country's largest residential brokerages. Alon, their brother, served as a top executive at the family's private security company.
Their client list read like a who's who of wealth and celebrity. They closed a $15 million Miami Beach condo sale to Kardashian and West, and their connections in Hamptons and Miami real estate circles were extensive.
The Trial
The jury of six women and six men heard testimony from 11 women who described being drugged, raped, or sexually assaulted by the brothers between 2008 and 2021. The attacks occurred at Hamptons mansions, Manhattan apartments, an Aspen ski trip, and during a Caribbean cruise.
Prosecutors presented graphic evidence including text messages between the brothers in which Oren wrote that "the boys need to hunt" because "we are running out of prey," and Alon messaged that Oren "took down a 17-year-old."
One accuser, a Ukrainian model using the alias "Bela Koval," testified she was "paralyzed" by a drugged drink before being raped. A Nevada nurse described Tal violently raping her in a shower at a Hamptons party house.
"The jury saw the Alexanders' conduct for what it was—calculated, brutal sexual abuse that, unimaginably, the defendants celebrated," Manhattan US Attorney Jay Clayton said in a statement.
The Downfall
The brothers' empire began crumbling in June 2024 when accuser Kate Whiteman filed a lawsuit alleging Alon and Oren raped her at a Hamptons estate dubbed "the Playboy Mansion of the East Coast." Whiteman was found dead in Australia days before the trial began; local police concluded she did not die from criminal activity.
All three brothers have been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since their arrest in December 2024. They pleaded not guilty and did not testify at trial.
Their attorneys argued that while the brothers may have acted like "entitled assholes," their behavior did not constitute sex trafficking under federal law. They plan to appeal.
Industry Impact
The conviction sends shockwaves through the luxury real estate world, where the Alexanders were synonymous with the ultra-high-end market. Their firm Official, which they launched with great fanfare in 2022, now faces an uncertain future.
The case also highlights the darker side of an industry where massive wealth, exclusive access, and celebrity connections can mask predatory behavior for years. For the victims who came forward, the verdict brings a measure of justice after more than a decade of silence.
